I am sensing a trend.

Have you noticed how some people seem to believe only what they want to believe, even if it has no bearing on reality? Evidently, this trait is quite common. Either I am just noticing it more and more or there is a growing trend to discount objective reality and rely more on feelings. For example, journalism seems to have evolved away from information gathering towards agititation for the sake of getting attention. From Dan Rather's fake but accurate TANG memos, to Eason Jordan's allegations that the US military targets journalists, to Kerry's pre-election claims that if Bush were reelected the military draft would be reinstituted, increasingly what passes for information is a bunch of wild allegations based on nothing other than someone's desire for them to be true.
